I've sat through (and given) numerous lectures and seminars on ancient civilisations, and though my expertise is a little later than the development of agriculture, i've still never heard that argument. :-s Do they? However, in the last stoneage cultures that were observed and documented.. this was the pattern.. try googleing stone-age culture... traditionally men were hunters and defenders..which caused people to be more nomadic….

Even if it meant boiling roots and finding potatoes and the like. They watched the animals survive and they copied the ways of nature.
